THE PHAIR

The Phair - a neologism that is a manifesto, a synthesis of Photography and Fair - is a fair at the first edition dedicated to photography, the image as a conceptual event before being technical and descriptive of reality. The fair was born from the need of photo-galleries of excellence to dedicate to this universe attention and investments, to return and represent the great ferment of forms and languages, and with the aim of becoming a reference point at national and international level.

The Phair will be an annual event designed to enhance the work of artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors, editors, museum directors who from different points of view promote and accompany photography as a process of gaze and reading of the imaginary.

A careful curatorial choice guarantees the selection of an organic proposal not divided into themes and sections but as a unique "sartorial" exhibition experience based on spaces of the same size - 20 sq. M. - for a fruition that refers more to an exhibition of exhibits, which innovates the traditional exhibition system and suggests new ways of reading.

Next to the galleries and actors of the many cultural sectors involved, The Phair investigates the experiences that cross the world of contemporary Italian and international photography but also the most interesting collecting experiences, public and private commissions, the role of publishers and that of operators engaged in the creation of artist's books. A rich program of Speed ??Talks and guided tours will be the occasion to involve the public in a broad knowledge of photography - the historicized and the more experimental - made up of looks that are fully placed in contemporary visual culture.
