Metronom Cultural Association, with the collaboration of Francesco Pozzi & Soci (Modena) and the Municipality of Castelvetro di Modena, and with the Patronage of the Municipality of Modena and the Rotary Club of Castelvetro di Modena, announce an artists’ prize competition with the aim of promoting, commending and spreading awareness of contemporary art.
Artifact prize envisages the selection of at least 10 shortlisted works, organization of an exhibition event, production of a catalogue and the awarding of prizes.
Artifact is a project devoted to contemporary art that is composed by an exhibition and a prize. The title, artifact, is referred to the element of production of the artistic object, both in its historical and traditional sense, and to the contemporary context of production and reception of the artwork, from the development of the digital technologies to the post-Internet art.
> Artifact_who can participate:
Artifact is open to international artists, without age limitation. It’s possible to submit any kind of media, painting, video, sculpture, installation, photography, works on paper.
> Artifact_the exhibition:
The shortlisted artists, selected by the committee of the Prize, will have the chance to exhibit their works in a collective exhibition inside the historical spaces of Levizzano castle, inside the Medieval village of Castelvetro di Modena, from 19 to 29 April, 2018. A catalogue of the show will follow.

The committee that will select the shortlisted projects and – among them – the three winners is composed by Fabrizia Carabelli (editor, INSIDE ART), Alessandro Carrer (art critic, professor ISIA Urbino), Vittorio Iervese (professor, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Andrea Losavio, Marcella Manni (Associazione Culturale Metronom), Chiara Massimo (Rotary Club Castelvetro, Modena), Francesco Pozzi (Francesco Pozzi & Soci).
